Vocaloid

Filed under: anime — Tags: — admin @ 2:55 am

Vocaloid cosplay is a singing synthesizer application developed by the Yamaha Corporation that enables users to synthesize singing by typing in lyrics and melody. It utilizes Yamaha’s Vocaloid synthesizing technology with specially recorded vocals of voice actors or singers. To create a song, the user must input the melody and lyrics. A piano roll type interface is used to input the melody and the lyrics can be entered on each note. The software can change the stress of the pronunciations, add effects such as vibrato, or change the dynamics and tone of the voice. Each Vocaloid is sold as “a singer in a box”. The software is available in English and Japanese, although a Chinese version has now been produced for Sonika.

The software is intended for professional cosplay musicians as well as light computer music users and has so far sold on the idea that the only limits are the users’ own skills. Japanese musical group Supercell have featured Vocaloid as vocals in their songs, and record labels in Japan also have released compilation albums featuring Vocaloids.

Vocaloid

Vocaloid

Miku Hatsune, for example, is one of the most popular Vocaloids to date and is pictured as a young girl with long blue pigtails cosplay costumes. Prior to her release, the software was generally unknown. “Miku” is responsible for sparking the sudden popularity of Vocaloid software and songs. An introductory song and many other story-telling songs were released using the Miku Vocaloid.
After Miku, many other popular characters were released. Rin and Len Kagamine are one example. Sometimes portrayed as twins, and other times presented as unrelated girlfriend and boyfriend, the two characters are actually two parts of the same whole. The two originate from the same voice provider. Their released songs vary from light and humorous to dark and serious, and the harmony created by their shared voice provider has gained many fans for the two.

Vocaloids have their limits, of course, and they certainly won’t be replacing traditional music idols anytime soon. They are, however, an interesting new musical phenomenon with an undeniable following.

List of terms in Tales of the Abyss

Filed under: anime — Tags: — admin @ 2:08 am

Tales of the Abyss is a console cosplay game developed by Namco Tales Studio and published by Namco in Japan and Namco Bandai Games in North America. It is the eighth mothership title in the Tales series, and was released for the PlayStation 2 on 15 December 2005 in Japan, celebrating the Tales series’ 10th anniversary, and on 10 October 2006 in North America. Tales of the Abyss’s characteristic genre name is RPG to Discover the Meaning of Life. It features the Flex Range Linear Motion Battle System, which most resembles Tales of Symphonia’s. The character designs are by manga artist Kosuke Fujishima.

Dawn Age: An era 2000 years prior to the start of the game. In this day, scientific research and fontech were highly advanced–even creating entire buildings and cities that self-operate using fon machinery. It’s not clear at exactly which point this age ended, but it seems to coincide with the appearance of the miasma and the creation of the Outer Lands.

Fomicry: A field of science created by Dr. Jade Balfour, or now known better as Jade Curtiss, as a means of cloning people and objects. Originally, fomicry was performed using the first six fonons, but after the results proved unstable, the Seventh Fonon began to be used exclusively. Replicated objects almost always have some sort of inherent flaw that makes them inferior to the original, and, on most occasions, even the “fonon frequency” differs between the original and replica.

Fonic Hymn: Hymns sang by Seventh Fonists which use the only the chanting portion of Fonic Artes, combined with melody. Because of this, they are generally weak, but there are special hymns which contain power equal to or greater than normal Fonic Artes.

Fonslots: The part of a person’s body that allows Fonons to enter and exit the body–permitting the use of Fonic Artes. It is possible to close them by use of a special seal, thus hindering a Fonist’s abilities. In addition, another special type of fonslot, called a Cursed Slot, can be placed on a victim. This type of fonslot reads the memories of its victim and allows the manipulator to overcome their inhibitions. It then drives the person to act on subconscious feelings, such as murdering someone they have a buried hatred for cosplay costumes.

Hyperresonance: A very powerful ability that is used when two Fonists of the same type use their abilities in tandem. In essence, a hyperresonance allows its user(s) to tear apart the fonons of any matter and then reconstruct them. Normally, it takes two Fonists to cause one, but there are two characters within the story who can cause one on their own.

Key of Lorelei: A mighty weapon created by Lorelei which allows the user to summon Lorelei when used along with the Grand Fonic Hymn. It also allows the user to use Lorelei’s power at will. The complete Key is actually in two parts: A sword, which concentrates Fonons, and the Jewel of Lorelei, which disperses them. Both halves of the Key are almost useless unless combined cosplay sale.

Light of the Sacred Flame: The title given to the “chosen hero” who, upon being born in the year ND 2000, is to inherit Lorelei’s power and lead his country into “prosperity”. Described in the Score as being a royal Kimlascan boy with red hair, it is assumed by most characters to be Luke fon Fabre.

The Score: A form of prophecy that is given by “scorers”. Though there are many different types of Scores, the most pivotal is the one written by Yulia. Yulia’s Score was developed as a last-ditch effort in order to save the world from being swallowed up by poisonous miasma. It dictated the next 2000 years of human history and, in the end, promised to bring prosperity to the world. Because of this, the world at large has begun following the Score religiously, even forming a church to regular read the Score to the masses.

Stop animation or cease motion animation is a way to make objects transfer on their own. Here, a couple of pictures are drawn with some completely different positions and photographed separately. Puppetry is the probably the most used frame-to-frame animation types. Some famous movies that are animated via stop animation effects are King Kong, The Dinosaur and the Missing Hyperlink, The Curse of the Were-Rabbit and and The Misplaced World.

Cel animation refers to the traditional way of animation in a set of hand drawings. In this means of animation anime cosplay, varied photos are created which are slightly completely different but progressive in nature, to depict sure actions. Hint these drawings on a clear sheet. This clear sheet is named cel and is a medium for drawing frames. Now draw outlines for the photographs and shade them on the back of the cel. The cel is an efficient method that helps to save time by combining characters and backgrounds. You may also put the previous drawings over other backgrounds or cels whenever required. Here, you needn’t draw the identical image again as it has the ability of saving previous animations that can be utilized when required. To show a cartoon show, 10-12 frames are performed in rapid succession per second to present a illustration of movement in a cel animation.

Using Computer Program Draw Anime Hand

Filed under: anime — Tags: — admin @ 8:25 am

Before you can begin drawing anime hands, you need to find a paint program. Luckily, both Windows XP and Mac OS X operating systems come with free paint programs that can support detailed drawings. To open the Windows XP Paint program, click on Start > Programs > Accessories. Once the Accessories box opens, you will see a Paint option. Click on this to open the free drawing application. The Mac OS X equivalent of the Windows XP Paint program is called Graphics Converter. You should see an icon representing the program in the bottom panel. If not, perform a search and open it up.

The first step in creating an anime hand is to draw the palm and basic structure of the fingers. To begin, draw an upside-down bell. At the flat top of the figure, make four extending lines for the fingers. Afterwards, make a line on the left or right side of the figure to represent the thumb cosplay.

draw-anime-hands-cosplay-computer-program

draw-anime-hands-cosplay-computer-program

Since the fingers look a bit silly as thin sticks, you must literally flesh them out. First, draw three circles on each finger and thumb. You should draw one at the top, one in the middle and one at the base of each finger, and also the thumb. These circles will assist you in fully drawing out the shape and texture of the fingers. After the circles are made, draw an outline around them to make full fingers. After doing so, experiment with making a line across the fingers that can serve as a knuckle cosplay shop.

As hands of anime characters can’t just float in space, you must attach them to an arm and wrist. At the point where the bell-shaped palm ended, draw a straight line downwards. After you have drawn a satisfactory line, make one line on each side. This will outline the shape of the anime character’s arm.

After you have drawn an anime character’s hand based on the circle and line guides you drew, delete the original circles and inner line of the arm. Once the lines and circles are removed, you will have a fully realized anime character’s hand that you can resize, incorporate with the rest of your character and perhaps use in sequences of graphic animation cheap cosplay costumes.

Design Anime Character Online

Filed under: anime — Tags: — admin @ 8:10 am

While it may seem a drastic step to build an entire Web site to create and showcase anime characters, basic hosting services with templates have rendered the process manageable. With a personal Web site, you can make any modifications you like, and you can host paint or drawing programs that can enable online creation. Also, based on the space allowed, you can upload as many cosplay characters as you wish. You can create message boards for feedback, and even host the characters invented by others.

If you don’t want to create an entire Web site, it’s worth considering using an already established Web site that allows for creation and sharing of anime cosplay characters. Blasting Art hosts online creation of anime characters and other graphic animations. Plus, it includes a forum and community for feedback and discussion. If Blasting Art doesn’t satisfy your needs, keep hunting. New sites are constantly coming and going.

While MySpace and Facebook don’t contain applications for creation of anime characters, they can host uploaded drawings. The advantage of posting anime characters on MySpace and Facebook is the opportunity to share your art with a wide audience. Several sites cater to anime fans. It’s free, and a surefire way to put your anime characters on display.

If you create your anime drawings using programs like Photoshop, GIMP or Paint, you can upload the resulting files directly to a Web site. However, keep in mind that you will need to upload a file that is a manageable size. If the file is too large, then your friends’ computers will have trouble downloading the files, or your destination site won’t let you upload it. For example, Blasting Art says that if your images are over 1000 pixels wide, a thumbnail of the image won’t appear on the site, so you’ll need to resize it.

Make sure to save a JPEG version of the file that meets the standards of your destination site, and share that instead of the original file. If you draw your anime cosplay costumes on paper, consider investing in a scanner to upload the image. You may get better results using a scanner than taking a photo of your art and uploading it.

Anime and Manga Vampires

Filed under: anime — Tags: — admin @ 8:09 am

Vampires are ubiquitous; from vampires that walk among us to the mythology and media of every culture, we encounter vampires. These creatures and their lore are also universal: no matter how different a culture is, there will be vampiric stories of many forms. This, in turn, has led to everything from bestselling vampire fiction to popular blockbuster films to books about the lifestyles of real vampires. Though the Japanese culture differs in many ways from our Western culture, anime cosplay and manga are often awash with stories of vampire mythology, and what is perhaps most interesting is that their many vampire characters are usually styled after the Western pop culture notion of what a vampire should be. As our own ideas of vampires evolve, they are continuing to show up in Japanese culture.

In spite of having plenty of Japanese mythology to fall back on, the vampire has gotten quite a bit of the limelight in anime and manga. One side of the Western-style vampire is often used: the seductive but dangerous immortal. The realities of a true vampire lifestyle hasn’t quite reached mainstream Japan pop culture yet, so this is not something one would expect to find in a vampire anime.

anime-and-manga-vampires

anime-and-manga-vampires

Being one of the originators of the West’s fascination with vampires, does Dracula show up in anime cosplay and manga? You better believe he does. In Hellsing, the main character is named Alucard. Dracula spelled backward, that is. This Alucard wanders a red-skied night, sleek and creepy, not exactly the count of his namesake. Meanwhile, the manga novel Dark Wars: Meiji Dracula, has Stoker’s count leave Europe to spend some time in nineteenth-century Japan. Hideyuki Kikuchi, the man behind Dark Wars’ clever idea, was also the brainchild of a manga called Vampire Hunter D.

Still, considering that Dracula was published more than one hundred years ago, there has been much added to the image of the vampire since then. If one reads the original novel, they’ll see that this Dracula is not the most attractive person. The more attractive vampire archetype has had numerous influences, including movies and Anne Rice’s books. So while Hellsing’s Alucard may not be everyone’s idea of a pretty man, they have plenty else to choose from. Nightwalker, about a vampire detective named Shido, has its beautiful, eye-catching male vampires. Shido himself, with his long purple hair, may not be realistic looking, but he’ll get girls to buy the DVDs. Cain, the gold-tressed vampire and sometimes lover of Shido, was the one who brought his protégé to the dark side and now teases him whenever he can.

Oftentimes vampires can be heroes, meaning that in anime cosplay costumes they often don’t have negative connotations attached to them. This, however, isn’t always true. In Descendants of Darkness, for example, a vampire is loose in Nagasaki killing people and it’s up to the protagonist Tsuzuki to stop her. Still, it could be noted that she’s acting the way she is because the antagonist of the series brainwashed her, and she never meant to do anyone harm. Furthermore, she still remains undead after Tsuzuki saves her, except that with his help she’s able to regain her mind and act like herself. Just as in the West crosses are said to stop vampires, here, too, religion comes into effect, with Shinto prayer strips being used vanquish the evil in her and bring back the woman’s heart.

True Anime

Filed under: anime — Tags: — admin @ 6:22 am

What is anime and what things are considered to be true anime cosplay and what things are considered to be related to real anime?

In general animated figures are divided into to categories: traditional had drawn cartoon figures and computer created figures.

cosplay-anime

If we speak about animation production, usually we notice certain Japanese elements in majority of animated cosplay films. It happens because a lot of animation films contain Japanese background. We may not notice it in images of animated characters but certain cultural peculiarities of Japan are rather clear in some moments. As an example let’s remember such popular animation cartoons as Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball Z. Characters of these films don’t look like Japanese, but there are certain cultural features which are from Japan.

True Anime

But from other side there are other animation films which don’t have anything in common with Japan cosplay costumes. These are such movies as Mickey Mouse, Betty Boop or Bambi. In fact these cartons can’t be considered as true anime, although certain animation features are present.

Anime and Cartoon

Filed under: anime — Tags: — admin @ 6:22 am

Strictly speaking though, there should be no distinction between anime and cartoon. Anime is a term used by the Japanese to refer to animated cartoons, from their own country and from others as well. Somehow, though, the world started using the term anime in reference to Japanese cartoons exclusively. Japanese animation was once called japanimation, but this term was aptly discarded when the term ‘Anime’ was put into use.

Some say that they see absolutely no difference between the two, even going so far as to classify both cartoons and anime  cosplay as ‘childish’ because of the nature of how they are presented, much to the woe of anime fans. Technically, there’s no official difference and they are somewhat correct. But you only have to watch a single episode of any anime series and you’ll see that anime is far more than your usual slapstick comedy man-tripping-on-a-banana-peal early morning cartoons. There is a real and profound difference between the two besides their spellings: Anime is so much more than ‘just a cartoon’.

cosplay-costume-anime

cosplay-costume-anime

Cartoons usually have a simple and defined plot. And they’re usually about the good guys fighting the bad guys. Cartoons rarely go beyond that old cliche. Most Anime series, on the other hand, are also about the same good vs. evil but the plots are rarely simple and rarely predictable. You’ll find an element of politics, religion, humanity, and a score of several other abstract concepts within an anime. Whereas cartoons are just about ‘evil’ cats chasing ‘innocent’ mice or a hero defending himself and others from a very evil bully. Anime  cosplay can blur the lines between good and evil so much that you’ll be left wondering which side is really right. Look at the plot of Gundam, there aren’t any good guys or bad guys. They’re both fighting for a cause – a worthy one, and both sides are prepared to do good and evil to achieve their goals. Look at the Wave Country arc of Naruto which is now at Naruto Shippuden. Zabuza, evil as he was, had evoked more sympathetic tears than any of the typical Disney antagonists. There are, however, few exceptions to the ‘cartoons are simple’ rule. There are cartoon series that are far advanced like X-men.

In terms of humor, anime goes beyond the slapstick comedy that cartoons offer. There won’t be any corny joke about the chicken crossing the road with anime. There won’t even be the quintessential banana peal. Anime humor is deep and witty. However, it is to be noted that cartoons are mostly for kids. Anime can be for an adult audience; it mostly is, actually. There are even times when anime plots are hardly suited for children cosplay costumes.
